Time reports that Barr, best known for her 9-year stint on TV sitcom “Roseanne,” announced on Twitter that she was throwing her hat in the ring to be the Green Party’s nominee for president.
The actress-comedian said in a statement that she’s a longtime supporter of the party and looks forward to working with people who share her values. She said the two major parties aren’t serving the American people.
Barr tweeted on Feb. 2, “I am running for Green Party nominee for POTUS. I am an official candidate. I am4 the Greening of America&the world. Green=peace/justice”
Then she continued tweeting with a list of things she would accomplish as president.
If her years on TV have prepared her for any part of a presidential run, it’s being the center of attention.
